We always ensure the preparation is done to a very high standard before any flags are laid. The sub-base is dug to an appropriate depth, filled with TYPE 1 MOT hardcore and is then compacted down and levelled. the flags are always laid on a full cement base and never rushed with the 'dot & dab' technique. We ensure the flags are level with calibrated gaps and shaped and cut expertly before we finish with pointing compound. We offer Indian sandstone in all available colours.

Beautiful lawns to enhance your garden

.For a newly laid lawn to thrive it must be laid with care over a meticulously prepared base of top quality sand and top-soil. The area should be hand-raked so the soil is broken into a crumb like consistency and left perfectly level. The rolls of turf need to be placed carefully so that they don't rip and in a straight line gently touching each other. This is the level of care and detail we employ at Down To Earth so that every lawn grows beautifully in your garden.

Artificial turf also requires careful preparation before it is laid so that it does not crease and come loose. A base is dug and filled with hardcore and Grano dust then compacted down. Once the turf is laid and is level we walk it in then cover with kiln dried sand to ensure it stays in place.
